Neck Face is an anonymous street artist from my rugged hometown of Stockton, CA. He’s known for his drawings and street art that have been spotted all around the world and on many major companies products in the skate industry. Neck Face began tagging and throwing up stickers around northern california in his junior year of high school and later went on to study at The School of Visual Arts in New York City for two years before dropping out. The attention Neck Face recieved from his street art allowed him to move his work into the galleries like New Image Art gallery in Los Angeles, the Luggage Store in San Francisco & the Dactyl Foundation in New York. His style has been described as naive and scratchy with his themes violent and medieval. You can definitely notice a heavy metal influence to them as well. Enjoy.

Larry Carlson is a groundbreaking visionary multi media artist. His work spans a variety of forms including photography, video-art, web-art, collage painting, digital art, animation, text-art, and sound art. He is a modern day renaissance man who has changed the way art is perceived in our world today with revolutionary work that is insanely mind blowing and pushes the possibilities for consciousness exploration within contemporary art. His artwork fuses together aspects of mysticism, surrealism, psychedelia, pop, naturalism and the technological, resulting in sublime juxtapositions that can totally bend one’s perception. G4Tech TV called him “The Salvador Dali of the Next Century”, and High Times magazine labeled him an “artistic mastermind”. International newspapers like London’s Guardian, Montreal’s Mirror, US weekly, Vice, Juxtapoz, High Times, Beautiful/Decay, BoingBoing, Lucky and NY Arts have all done features on his unique awe-inspiring art. He has created his own original music and soundtracks and so far has released seven albums. Larry currently lives and works out his studio in New York City.

Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones nerding out in a studio on some electronic synths while Herbie shows off his knowledge of the machines by bustin out some funky sounds. The video was taken from a VHS recording of the 1984 documentary “I love Quincy”. Soulful virtuosity meets early digital synthesis in this early clip.. Enjoy.

Alexandre Farto aka Vhils is a prolific Portuguese born street artist who’s range spans from collage to portraiture. He is most notable for creating work in the sides of walls through breaking off pieces of plaster until his work is formed in the remains. Vhils art is poetic, complex, and ambitious, often focusing on the needs we have abandoned in favour of our wants, and the realization that trading pleasure in for happiness will be less than staightforward exchange. If you havn’t seen this artists work before than do yourself a favor and check out some more from him.
